Comedy Store first opened in Soho in 1979, but having outgrown its original location it is now on Oxendon Street in the heart of West End. The Comedy Store is one of the most famous venues of its kind in London, featuring some of the world's best comedians.
Comedy Café is a purpose built comedy club located off of Shoreditch High Street, near the town hall. Customers are given a table for the evening where they can have dinner and watch the show. Along with some top comic talent there is a disco at weekends with extended licensed bar.
Up the Creek is another purpose built venue, located on Creek Road, Greenwich. It has a solid reputation for fine comedy in a friendly atmosphere. With a separate bar, decent food menu and talented comedians it has the right ingredients for a highly entertaining night out.
Chuckle Club in Holborn has cheap entry, cheap beer and top quality acts. Among other comedy clubs in London worth mentioning are: Lee Hurst's Backyard Comedy Club in East End; The Comedy Tree held every saturday at the Walkabout pub in Putney; and Amused Moose with three locations in London: Soho, Camden and Hampstead.
